May Glossybox Review

Hey sweeties, April here!

Welcome to my 3rd & final monthly installment of my glossybox subscription service! I've learnt i have a love/hate relationship with subscription boxes, they're like surprises for yourself every month that will be filled full of amazing little gifts that you can't understand how you went your life without or packed with products that have no use so you try and palm them off to your family members.

If you're not familiar with GlossyBox, GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription box that offers 5 full or deluxe size samples of products for £10/month. They offer mostly high-end products, but they throw in some great drugstore items too.

This month Glossybox is all about getting ready for summer - beautifully, it contains "all the essentials you need to prep for the balmy days ahead"

So what’s inside the box?
  • MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes Dual Ended Eye Wand in Midnight Storm. Full size worth £6.95
  • Etre Belle Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturising Gel, 40ml full size worth £15.93
  • Zerreau Towel Off Shampoo Foam, 70ml sample size worth £3.09
  • Sass Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate, sample size 30ml worth £3.60
  • Collection Cosmetics Lipstick in Field Day, full size worth £2.99
Total value of box = £32.56.

 (image)

Zerreau Towel Off Shampoo Foam (sample size, full size is £7.95)
I gave this a go this morning and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a weird product but it works. I don't know if I prefer it to my usual Batiste dry shampoo, but I'll definitely use it until it runs out.

MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes Dual Ended Eye Wand (full size product worth £6.95)
MeMeMe seems to becoming a regular product in Glossyboxes. Though I've not seen any products out on the high street, I would be tempted to have a browse and possibly buy based on the products I've tried so far. This duel ended wand is in the shade midnight storm. It features a turquoise shade and then a darker blue on the other end. It’s highly pigmented and shimmery and is something I'm going to enjoy experimenting with a bit!

Etre Belle Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturising Gel (full size product worth £15.93)
I'm sure most of you have heard about Aloe Vera being soothing for skin, which makes this moisturiser the perfect travel companion. Use twice a day to soothe, moisturise and improve your skin's elasticity. The bottle makes it quite easy to travel with, too, and I think I’m going to save this for my summer holiday

SASS Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate (sample size, full size product costs £12)This is one of those products that I'd never consider looking into, let alone purchasing. I've used it twice on my legs in the past few days, and I can't say that I've seen a massive difference compared to without using it. Although it does take that initial itchy, “I've just shaved my legs” feel away – which is nice! But not worthy of £12

Collection Cosmetics Lipstick in Field Day, full size worth £2.99
I like the packaging, the brand and the formula. However I'm not a massive fan of the colour. It doesn't suit my skin tone at all, which is a shame because it’s perfect for summer. I'll probably give it to one of my friends, who will give it more love than I can.

All in all an interesting box with a range of different products and brands. Its the last of my 3 month subscription, which i don't think i will further either. Most of the products that i have received are either passed on to family members or down at the bottom of my makeup collection now, unfortunately.
I do however want to try something new! which beauty subscription boxes do you love? recomend me some different subscription services below!

Iconic Hollywood Glossybox Review

Hello my little sugar tots... it's been a while!
I realise this post comes slightly late but hey! better late than never right? life has got in the way this month..sorry

My April GlossyBox finally hit my doorstep *cough, 4 weeks ago, cough* after seeing all the hype gathering up about the box online, it's safe to say I was excited!

The theme is Iconic Glamour and was based around four very iconic ladies, it comes in four colour options this month, blue, pink, yellow and green. Each colour represented an icon; Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Rita Hayworth and Elizabeth Taylor, although each box still has Marilyn on the front... confusing right!?

My first impression of the April Glossybox wasn't great. When I opened it, I was underwhelmed by what I found. It just felt like there were tiny products in a mass of tissue paper and a massive box.

So what’s in the box?
  • Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil in Kiss – Full size worth £10.00
  • POP Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pen – Full size worth £6.50
  • Darphin Exquisage Beauty Revealing Cream 5ml – 50ml is £65 so 5ml is £6.50
  • Colour Club Barely There Nail Polish – Full size worth £4.10
  • Nougat London Soothing Bath Pearls – 35ml worth £6.00
  • Total value of box = £33.10

Lord & Berry Lip Crayon in Kiss - £10

We had a spoiler earlier in the month so I already knew that I was going to receive a bright red lip pencil, Lord & Berry in shade Kiss. This colour definitely has Hollywood glamour written all over it, a bright cherry red, perfectly Marilyn. However after having a lot of time to try out the product, I'm really disappointed... the pencil leaves a really matte finish which is really drying on the lips so without any sort of lip primer this pencil will be a trick and a half to keep perfect for the day, unfortunately this has gone straight to the bottom of the makeup pile..

Astral Original Face & Body Moisturiser - £3.89 for 200ml

This, I'm not so crazy about, I've seen it for years in boots stores and it's not something I'd go and pick up. This moisturiser is said to be a favourite of Hollywood stars since the 1950’s. As well as providing deep moisture, it can also remove makeup! I'm going to save it for holiday where it would be a great mini product. There’s nothing worse than taking loads of products on holiday, especially full size skin products!

Pop Beauty Kajal Pencil in Sooty Black - £6.50

Eye liner is something nearly every girl has in her make up bag. So from the point of glossybox a full sized eye liner is playing it pretty safe. The eyeliner is said to be a soft pencil, ideal for smudging (with the little smudger on the end) into a smoky eye look, however the eyeliner doesn't seem to last long and the "smudger" on the end instead of creating a beautiful smoky eye actually wipes the liner straight of your eyes. Sadly another product straight in the bottom of my collection.

Colour Club Polish in Barley There - £4.10 for 15ml

The Colour Club Nail Lacquer in Barely There is the perfect nude shade for fairer complexions – but – I have to say I was actually quite disappointed with this polish. It was just so sheer. On first application it might as well have been a clear polish, and I was still nowhere near full opacity after three applications. I guess it just depends what you’re looking for in a nail polish. I personally like a full and intense colour. If you prefer a very sheer colour that just gives shine, then this is for you.

IDC Luxury Body Lotion in Warm Lavender - £3.59 for 200ml

This lotion is a quickly absorbing, hydrating and nourishing, leaving the skin beautiful, silky soft and delicately scented. It is inspired from our favourite Hollywood icons, who loved pampering the skin with aroma of lavender. For me this product was the only positive, the smell is glorious! I have trouble sleeping so having the aroma of lavender really helps me shut my brain up and pop off to sleep. all in all lovely product, it's now proudly presented on my bedside table.

All in all a pretty negative box filled with products I'm undoubtedly going to try and pass of to my younger sister, unfortunately i paid for the 3 month collection so i still have a month to go, lets hope next months box is 100% better otherwise I'm going to have to find a new makeup subscription service.

April's Birthday Weekend Away

I feel like i've been a bit of a ghost for a while, what can I say...balancing work and life is pretty tricky. But hey, that's not what I want to talk about today. If you follow us on twitter you will know that April, Alex and I went on a weekend away to Birmingham to celebrate aprils 23rd birthday!

If you don't know already, we all went to university in Birmingham and this was the first time after we graduated that we were going to see each other. No word of a lie, I was really nervous to see these guys, yes I had the nervous shit's too (sorry tmi).

We booked an apartment in city centre which was absolutely beautiful. There was a bedroom, a cute little kitchen and it even had a balcony over looking the city centre. The weather that weekend was perfect! It really felt like summer, the sun was shining, we had our sunglasses on and we were getting our drink on!

The drink's started to flow earlier than expected. Well the plan was to "pace ourselves" but that didn't happen and I was the first one to start feeling the effects of alcohol. We had cooked and ate dinner in our little kitchen and then the antics began. April made a massive punch bowl full of sex on the beach. The best cocktail to get you drunk and hyper according to April. Yes she is right! Any students reading this should take note.

We also made an amazing playlist on Spotify.

When I came back from America, I brought back these gold tattoo things (not sure what the real name for it is) and I thought it would be a good idea to put them on. BAD IDEA! We literally covered our body with these tattoo's and when I say we covered everything...I mean everywhere. Enough said. Also Alex gave me a cool smokey eye because I can't create a smokey eye to save my life.

I don't really remember much of the night after April opened her presents, i'm not sure how we got to the club and how we got back. But all in all we had an amazing night! The next day we were hanging...badly. So that meant a trip to Weatherspoons for a greasy breakfast and lots of cups of tea. I mean who doesn't love tea and some grease to cure a hangover.

I did manage to film bits of footage throughout the weekend so here is a vlog I put together. Hope you enjoy :)

March Glossybox Review

Hello my little sugar tots, guess what‽ I've received my first ever Glossybox, so heres my product review!
Since i have my job now to fuel my makeup addiction, i figured i could commit
to a monthly makeup fix and Glossybox was my first port of call,
any other monthly makeup subscriptions you guys recommend?
Just look at the attention to detail! so beautifully, aesthetically pleasing it makes my heart burst with love

I received my box on Friday so Ive had a couple of days to review all of this months products and lets just say am a happy bunny! not only have i tried all the products but i have loved each and everyone too (one exception)

NAOBAY - Moisturising Peeling- Full Size 100ml RRP £13.71

The first item in my box is the full size Naobay Moisturising Peeling (worth £13.71), which is an organic 'peeling milk' from Spanish Eco-brand Naobay.  Its described as being a "start over" for skin. The product contains particles from the acai tree to remove dulling dead skin cells and brighten the complexion. Following the products organic branding, the packaging is really lovely, the lid is made from repurposed wood, which gives it a real rustic appearance. The consistency of the product is lightweight very fluid cream with tiny exfoliating particles (which could be bigger tbh) that gently buff the skin. I've used this every evening since Friday and i can tell you this product is worth it, it leaves my skin beautifully soft, feeling clean, and fresh- which can only be a good thing right? the only negative i can think of is that i would have liked there to have been more exfoliating particles within the cream for a deeper feeling cleanse, and lastly i would have preferred a thicker cream, they're not joking when they call it a milk. The first time i used this product i was in the bath, i wasn't expecting such a milky consistency and over filled my hand leading me to lose a bit in the bath- what a waste! silly me! Overall  7/10

Essence- Lash Princess Volume Mascara- Full Size 12ml RRP £3.30

Next up is a brand I haven't tried before but I've read lots of positive things. At £3.30 this is definitely a bargain mascara. I like the black and orange design on the tube, with an orange corseted design on the lid which makes for great grip when applying to the lashes (and to subconsciously tell you where the rounded part of the brush is- nice touch) The mascara has a 'curved-head' shaped wand which has short bristles along the underside of the wand, and longer bristles around the top. Again I've given this product ago everyday and yes its a pretty decent budget mascara but nothing can tear me away from my benefit they're real mascara, i would recommend it as a makeup starter kit.
5/10

Dove Advanced Hair Series-Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner Duo – Travel Size 50ml x 2

This appears to be a new range from Dove and mainly concentrates on ageing hair to give it the boost it needs with a unique formula infused with Cysteine rich-Protein and Elasto-Lipids, bringing a deep replenishment with double fullness to create youthful and thicker looking hair. Yes it does all of them things, and although i don't have "ageing hair" i do have damaged hair *Que sob story from hair bleaching experience* ive definitely seen a big difference in the condition of my hair, theres less breakage, and the hair feels satin soft- my favorite!
*cough* i just ordered the full size bottles from boots 8/10

ncLA- Nail Lacquer- Full Size 15ml RRP £13.00

When I opened the box, the very first product which caught my eye was the full size ncLA Nail Lacquer worth £13 The ncLA are luxury nail lacquers, meaning they are 100% free of DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde, but also of camphor and animal testing. The colour got me really excited and ready for the sun! I got the shade "Like....Totally Valley Girl"which is a gorgeous, bright pink/orange which makes me excited for the three 's' (sun, sea & sand) I must be honest though, its the biggest anti climax of the whole box collection, when i tried it, the varnish came out really watery, even after 3 coats, so i just removed the colour. Lets just say i let my sister have it. 2/10

Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm- full size 2g RRP £4.49

Still, as Glossybox so rightly put it "a handbag hero" Carmex is one of the most popular lip brands alongside the likes of Vaseline in the UK. This is a sheer tint balm that helps give your lips an enhancing boost. It’s packed with vitamin E, aloe and Shea butter to keep your smoochers smooth. To expand on the lip enhancing (i was a little confused) it basically means it give the sense of tingling on your lips, it doesn't hurt like the soap and glory lip enhancing products *ugh, horrifying flash back* its already made it to my everyday makeup pot and it makes a huge difference during these dry, yet cold months still- No more cracked lips for moi! 9/10

I hope you liked this review! and maybe inspired you to start your monthly subscription? I've just signed up for 3, ha- whups! what other beauty product monthly subscriptions would you recommend?

Someday Summary - Wednesday 18th

Hello my little sugar plums! I'm going to start a new 'thing' where I summarise my random day of antics and have a general chit chat about my week just like a little diary, that's not so private haa

I would call it "Monday Summary" or something to that extent
but I seriously can't commit to that! Far too much creative pressure!
Like I said in my last post, this whole concept is inspired by the, what I call 'vintage'

Zoella blog posts, i really like the idea. its like a written version of Grace Helbigs Fridiary!

*I'm currently writing this post with 2% battery left in my mac keyboard which is making this post 10x harder to write, with it constantly disconnecting- gahh-batteries! I feel like I'm constantly buying the bloody things.

*I planned this post eating Jaffa cakes, simultaneously whispering to myself 'full moon, half moon, total eclipse’. Yes I'm that cool

*I'm trying to convince myself that £50 is an acceptable amount of money to pay for Zoeva brushes; it's a shame that the common sense side of my brain is ruining the fun

*I'm trying to arrange to have my contraceptive implant taken out, (gross I know) its not going well, I need to book a whole day off work for a 20 minute consultation with the doctor and book another day off to have it removed, I'm bloody not parting with my much needed holiday just to spend my time sitting for hours in the hospital... so I need to come up with a plan... help?

*Its exactly a week till payday, my ASOS shopping basket is primed and ready. ..Again

* Brought a game called city skylines which I'm totally obsessed with, its similar to SimCity but better! I feel like when I'm not playing it I'm still thinking about it, it's almost as bad as my Sims addiction

*I keep having weird dreams that I'm going to be abducted by pirates!? I have no idea why!

*I'm going through a really good makeup phase atm, I've managed to get a natural everyday look down to a tee! I would show you a photo, but nobody got time to see that! I say down to a tee, by that I mean I actually have a makeup collection that’s half decent now (after many years) and I’ve gotten better at contouring my massive moon head...waahhoo

*Currently getting in to the summer mood re-visiting my favourite music YouTube channel of 2014 "The Sound You need" there 'popular uploads' playlist is amazing and totally awesome to get you in the "summer evening drinking with mates and having a BBQ" mood!

Here’s a snippet of what I'm currently chilling too

And that's me for this week sorted! I'm really tempted to do a nice healthy recipe for next weeks post since I haven't done a recipe tutorial in ages! Hoped you like this kind of post and I will see you next week!

"March-spiration"

Spring Has Finally Sprung

Hello my little sugar plums, how are you doing this fine spring morning!? I'm in a very good mood today, the sun has finally started to break through the misery that is winter allowing the frozen ground to finally start flourishing in to beauty again. I love how spring takes back the beauty that was stolen by winter. My back garden is slowly but surely coming back to life, there is something artistically beautiful about watching the spring plants blossom into beauty. I've currently got a backyard full of daffodils, I'm contemplating picking them and making an arrangement, but i feel guilty for ruining something that is so naturally beautiful to create an arrangement that will inevitably destroy?

Do you get me or am i overthinking stuff again... haha i will make this an issue for future April :) Anyway, its bloody March! if you've been living under a rock how have 2 whole months flew past without me noticing!? Today in England we have just had our first proper sunny day, the temperature hit 15 Celsius! geezz time to thaw out guys! there will be men topless walking down the street next, amiritee! But what i particularly love *cough hate cough* about this month is how temperamental the weather is, although i say it's sunny, it's still bitterly cold i cannot emphasise bitterly enough the other day i was tricked into a false sense of assurance that that it was warm because the skies were clear and the sun was shining gracefully across the rooftops ohh gosh was i wrong i chose to leave the house in just a cardigan acting as my coat and some suede dolly shoes, i didn't even make it to the end of my street before the rain started, lets not forget i totally forgot my brolly too so i turned to head back home only to be stranded under a tree of misery trying to protect my freshly washed hair from the inevitable wetness of the rain, needless to say the so called tree *cough twig* wasn't enough protection and i had to briskly walk home, nobody got time for running What once started off as a beautiful sunny day had so quickly changed into the day i walked home drenched though resulting in my current illness; runny nose, sore throat, you know the kind... THIS IS WHY I DON'T LIKE LEAVING THE HOUSE!

* I created this post listening to this chill step playlist!

This is honestly one of the greatest playlist for any sort of productivity. Its what got Amreeta and i through many all nighters in the out of hours library trying so desperately to finish our dissertations and final major projects. I recommend any sort of music with no/hardly any voice's through it as it allows you to concentrate on your work rather than the lyrics.
Happy Listening!

Thanks for reading! I hope you guys have an awesome rest of the week, i have another little post being sorted as we speak for next week, i want to start a new weekly "Someday Summary" inspired by the beautiful Zoella from what i call her 'vintage blog posts' i love the concept of giving the world a brief snippet of your daily life, so look forward to that ;)

February Favorites

Hey Internet, April here!

Ooh my goodness, where has the time gone! i cannot even express my confusion on how fast this year is going! Since i started my new job in January, a whole two months have flew by stupendously fast.  Sorry i haven't made time for blogging! lets hope that March is a more successful month for me to blog! I promise i will try harder!

Anyway this week I'm going to be going through what products i have been loving this past February. This list mostly contains me raving over beauty products that i received for Christmas! So well done to my family for buying products they knew i would enjoy!

Firstly this quote! isn't it amazing! it's what I've based my life around  these past couple months! I've realised that with a bit of positive reinforcement i can do anything! whether it's beating my anxiety issues (granted i still get a bit wobbly sometimes but on a whole I'm much, much better with dealing with situations that tend to cause me to have a bit of a panic. I'm proud of myself to have been able to do this without medication, I've seen a few people become reliant on anxiety meds and its not what i wanted to do, i didn't want to be reliant on something to make me feel better but not solve the underlying issue, i wanted to be able to solve the issue the best i could instead of putting theoretical band aids over a problem to hide the issues)

I am totally in love with this song, i discovered it on my 'recommended videos' on YouTube, gave it a whirl, and volla, instantly my new favorite song.
Song of the month! Bipolar Sunshine- Daydreamer

I absolutely love this song, i stumbled across this band towards the end of January and its been in my 25 most played since.

Next on my favourites list is something unexpected. I asked my parents for makeup brushes for Christmas as my 'then current' brushes were rubbish! i asked for a starter set of Zoeva brushes, as i had read a lot of reviews raving about them and the obvious fact that the brushes were rose gold (look at me swoon over makeup brushes haha) but on christmas day when i opened a package expecting zoeva brushes, i was shocked to discover number 7 brushes, not that i was ungrateful, i was slightly amused because i know my mum had gotten confused in the store, anyway being the awkward person i am, i never mentioned it and started using them, much to my suprise they are amazing! i'm actually going to buy the whole set next payday because the brushes are amazing! they leave no brush marks when applying foundation,  they blend eye shadow brilliantly and they clean up beautifully too!
what a happy accident!

Next on my hit list of favs/must haves are Rimmel's lasting finish foundations (i rather using this than my benefit foundation) The foundation itself is brill, it has good coverage, the only downside is that it does dry out towards the end of the day, (if you do long days) this isn't really an issue for me as i don't really like wearing makeup for too long anyway. What also surprised me was the actual amount skin shades the brand offers, it is amazing, i usually have to mix multiple foundation shades together to get my skin tone shade correct so this is a time saving god send for me!
lovelovelove

lastly on my little list of favs, i have quite possibly come across the best £7 i have ever spent. This tube of heaven has been a godsend! it has cleared my skin up amazingly, it totally obliterates black heads and cleans out pores! my skin has never been so clear, even during the time of the month it stays clear! i use it every evening as a two part cleanser and makeup remover! serious heaven in a tube...

Anyway, i hope you have enjoyed this post, and i will definitely try harder to be getting a post out every week :) hope you guys have an awesome week and i will see you soon!

Pancake Day

Hey guys its April & Amreeta....ooohh that's right joint blog post!

This week we are going to be telling you how to make the perfect British AND American pancake! for both the sweet and savoury monster within you!

Everyone has a little pancake monster within them that doesn't allow you to just eat one pancake and be satisfied but instead makes you involuntarily eat a million pancakes!

 Aprils British Pancakes

Ingredients
  • 110g/4oz plain flour, sifted
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 200ml/7fl oz milk mixed with 75ml/3fl oz water
How to make the perfect pancake batter;
  • Sift the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl
  • Now make a well in the centre of the flour and break the eggs into it
  • Then begin whisking the eggs - any sort of whisk or even a fork will do
  • Next gradually add small quantities of the milk and water mixture, still whisking (don't worry about any lumps as they will eventually disappear as you whisk)
  • Then whisk once more until the batter is smooth, with the consistency of thin cream

Cooking your creation!
  • Now get the pan really hot, It's also helpful if you use a ladle to pour the batter into the hot pan
  • As soon as the batter hits the hot pan, tip it around from side to side to get the base evenly coated with batter
  • It should take only half a minute or so to cook; you can lift the edge with a spatula to see if it's tinged gold
  • Now the best bit! FLIP the pancake- don't let all your hard work be wasted by flipping it on the floor or in my case, flipping it to high and it sticking to the ceiling
To Serve
  • Sprinkle each pancake with freshly squeezed lemon juice and a dusting of either caster sugar, or icing sugar
  • Fold in half, then in half again to form triangles, or simply roll them up
Alternatively, you can top your pancake with whatever your heart desires! Milkyway spread, ice cream, Nutella, fruit/fruit compote, nuts, cream, melted chocolate!
Either way its not good for the diet so you may as well go for it!

Taadddaahhh.. your British pancake is complete!

Amreeta's American Pancakes
You will need:
  • 1 cup Self raising flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  •  4 tsp brown sugar
  •  Pinch of salt
  • Olive Oil
  • Maple syrup
  •  Fruit of choice
1) Add the flour, egg, milk, salt and sugar to a bowl and mix until smooth.
2) Heat a non stick pan on low- medium heat and add 1 tsp of olive oil, making sure the olive coats the pan. Spoon the mixture into the pan, I usually do two small pancakes to a pan or one medium sized one. When bubbles start to appear on the surface (2 minutes) you can flip the pancake.
3)Let it cook on the other side for another 2 minutes until brown on both sides.
4) Place onto a plate and serve with maple syrup and fruit of your choice.

And there you go, both of our delicious pancake recipes! Which one is your favourite?

~ Simple 'PARRTAAY' Cocktails ~

Hey guys, its April :)

Whos up for some really super easy cocktails for your new years eve party? looking for simple cocktails that please all? You have come to the right place, My uni drinking experiences has come in handy! YAY DEGREE!

~Pimm's~
AKA- Pimm's and ginger ale.
A summer fave, you most likely have bottle spare in you drinks cupboard.
Mix with either ginger ale, or lemonade with assorted fruit, try mixed berries for the colder months with cinnamon sticks = YUM
~Paloma~
AKA- Tequila with grapefruit juice.
Perfection in a cup, this is the only way i love to drink tequila, super tasty and uber refreshing, although be aware of the headache caused by this drink!
so drink lots of water alongside this drink
(all alcoholic drinks for that matter)
~Cuba Libre~
AKA- rum and coke, this drink is even better if you have  cherry coke!
if you would rather a mocktail (non alcoholic cocktail) ask for a 'virgin cuba libre' sheldons drink from big bang theory!
~Gin and Tonic~
A personal fave of mine, this was my go to drink at university, low in calories- (compared to other cocktails) especially if you choose the slimline tonic, you can also drink gin with fanta lemon- (my holiday drink) as i like to call it, it's super refreshing, especially with ice and a wedge of lime and orange
~Seven & Seven~
AKA- whiskey lemonade, me and amreeta would pre drink on this many a time at uni!
super delish and super drunk scale 100%
whiskey is also nicely mixes with coke or cherry coke, slice of lime and a cocktail umbrella :)

And there we have it 5 simple yet pleasing cocktails to serve at your NYE event!
NOW obviously i'm not promoting abusive drinking behaviours, just merely guiding/showing you ways to create simple yet tasty alcoholic beverages, also, on a side note to this, please drink responsibly, have lots of water, before, during and after drinking, and act safely over this holiday and we will see you in the new year with a fresh new look to the blog!
Hope you guys have an amazing new year filled with family and friends!

PS) sorry its been so long since my last post, i've been working! thats right, i've actually become a normal functioning human that works and has money for stuff...with zero time to actually spend the money! ~Booo~
But yes, new year new me, and all that shizzle that makes me want to be sick, next week i start my new job, something that's actually relevant to my degree, i'm super excited but also super duper terrified! My job title will be  "Social Media and Marketing Assistant"  how fancy... really, it means i sit on social media all night for a certain business. I'm very very excited for this, however my blog posts may be a bit sparse whilst i settle into my new grown up life.. Bare with me please? :)

"December-spiration"

Hey Internet, its April

I can't believe that it is actually December!
ITS CHRISTMAS MONTH!
I should really stop getting so overly excited.. its only the 4rd!

Its officially the countdown to Christmas, WAAHHHOO  its the time where everyone turns totally bonkers and slightly scary whilst shopping, (who else saw the black Friday madness?) just an FYI, its not socially acceptable to snatch products out of someones hands.. just wanted to put that out there...I'm speaking from an experience that i don't ever want to re live again...

Besides Christmas itself, advent calendars are one of the bests part of the month, having nibbles of choccy everyday day, THE BEST, this year i've treated myself, i may have purchased the Dan and Phil advent calendar... not gonna lie, I'm totally in love with it! not only do i get my daily Dan and Phil fix with their super cute/disturbing selfies behind each door but the chocolate is on par with Cadburys! I'm not even sorry that i have the calendar rather than a super dedicated 'fan' i also feel a small sense of achievement knowing i beat all the super speedy teens, which justifies the chocolate eating some more.

However we do need to face the fact that over this month, weight will be gained but its ok, a few pounds here and there from all the justified limited edition coffee shop Christmas drinks is worth it, lets all join hands and take full advantage of the gingerbread lattes and yule log bakes, because... lets face it, when the snow hits, we need them extra pounds to keep us functioning when were freezing to death and the whole country has ground to a halt from 3 inches of snow...YAY England!

December is THE lazy month, where its actually socially acceptable to snuggle next to the fire with fleecy thick blankets without judgement or guilt and maybe a bottle of wine or a slice of cake... or both... rather than going out side facing the perral of englands unpredictable winter weather.

In addition to the mental Christmas present shopping, now is the time to raid Primark for their amazing Christmas jumpers. Funny story; my sister bought a flashing penguin jumper 2 years ago, my mum washed it not knowing that it flashed, and since then its never bloody stopped flashing, at least we know the batteries are good in it!

I hope you have enjoyed this post, next week I'm bring some super exciting food DIY Christmas decorations! so stay tuned for that! in the meantime feel sorry for me, i currently have a little job in a restaurant dealing with customers that suck all the Christmas joy out of life!

"November-spiration"

Hey Internet! April here,
Yes, sorry, if you haven't already noticed from the title of the post,
I said the 'C' word!! dun dun durr!

Its ok though, the heart throbbing John Lewis & Coca Cola adverts have been on! so its time to stop procrastinating from gift buying, grab the mulled wine & be ready for the next month and a half of your life, flash before your very eyes!
Or give it another 2 weeks before starting if you like, no ones judging! I'm not, i don't start shopping till the very last minute.... oops

Its mid-week, and for me, that means a whole lot of pinning has been done! So i would like to roundup this weeks most inspirational interior Christmas pins i have come across, so get those imagination juices flowing and have the Christmas boards ready for some re-pinning!...

~Its these types of pictures that make me so excited that one day i will have my own place, somewhere i have the freedom to be as creative as i like, without restrictions, like parents or money. Its so hard to get use to the lack of freedom you have when you move back home from university.

I feel this has gone off on a bit of a tangent... CHRISTMAS!

~When I think about Christmas, I think glitter, warmth, mulled wine, the fresh smell of Christmas trees and best of all, decorations! One of my favourite things to do is blitz through the Christmas baubles in shops like John Lewis. I turn in to an absolute crazy person, when i find myself getting overly excited, i call it bauble fever ~ does anyone else get like this... i hope so, otherwise, i probably need to see someone...

~VODKA~

A new thing this year I'm going to try, will do, is create flavoured vodkas. Every year my little old nanna creates the most amazing cranberry/raspberry infused vodka, that fuels the whole Christmas period, so my tasks is to get her to impart her wisdom/witchcraft in creating successful berry infused Christmas vodkas, i will let you know how i get on :P

~Some example flavours that i want to try out!~

~DIY

Before the year is out, i have a few DIY projects in mind, including spiced fruit centre pieces, Cinnamon and vanilla candle decorations and mason jar snow globes!

how cute are these DIYS! if you want to see blog posts of me attempting any of these, let me know, because such cuteness needs to be shared with the world!

~lastly! dun dun durrr!
Has everyone seen the awesome advent calendars this year! granted they are super expensive but i kinda want to splash out and just go for it? is that bad? Ive had my eye on getting the benefit advent calendar for the past few years and i think its time that i just go for it.

So yeah, this is basically a condensed version of my Christmas Pinterest odyssey from the other night, i hope i have got some creative juices flowing and inspired some christmasy purchases and DIYS!

Little FWI; the images i will be including are not mine, if you want to find the original makers of the images i made a bored on Pinterest for you, check it out below xx
